Ever heard of the iconic Jeju Olle Trail? It’s not just a walk—it’s a journey through Jeju’s soul. Spanning 425 km around the entire edge of the island, the trail reveals Jeju’s dramatic coastlines, quiet fishing villages, ancient stone walls, lava cliffs, and paths lined with wildflowers and tangerine trees. Inspired by Spain’s famous Camino de Santiago, the Jeju Olle Trail has become one of Korea’s most iconic and beloved long-distance walking routes, drawing hikers, wanderers, and soul-seekers from all over the world.

After finishing the grueling but unforgettable BAC 100 Peaks Challenge, we suddenly found ourselves in a strange kind of limbo. What now? Climbing mountains had become our lifestyle, but now that the goal was completed, it felt like we were just ticking off hikes without the same fire. We weren’t burned out—but we craved something different. We longed for scenery, culture, and a rhythm far removed from our usual Seoul routines.

The idea of Jeju Olle had already whispered its way into our minds after summiting Mt. Hallasan, Jeju’s proud centerpiece and one of the BAC peaks. At the time, we laughed and said, “Maybe in ten years.” It felt like a retirement dream—something for a slower version of ourselves.

But life, as it does, shifted unexpectedly. Some personal plans fell through last minute, and we suddenly found ourselves with an open window of time, stuck between “what didn’t work out” and “what’s next.” Instead of spiraling, we decided to pause—and pivot. What if this unexpected detour was the exact push we needed to chase that “someday” goal right now?

So we did. We packed our lives, left Seoul behind for a while, and temporarily moved to Jeju. Not just to walk the trail, but to truly experience the island—the people, the flavors, the slow mornings, the salt in the air. It wasn’t just about exercise anymore; it was about immersion, discovery, and maybe even a little renewal.

We didn’t expect to start this chapter so soon, and honestly, we have no idea how it’s going to end. Jeju is wild, beautiful, moody, and unpredictable—much like life itself.

So… did we complete the full loop around Korea’s most mystical island? Or will Jeju, in her wind-blown wisdom, take us somewhere entirely different?

Follow our trail story to see if we really made it through all 425 km—and whether the views were worth the blisters (spoiler: they were).
