During our brief stay in the Philippines before permanently moving back to South Korea, we didn’t get a chance to explore much of the country. Ki Sang, a tropical weather enthusiast, was especially excited to visit Boracay, the iconic white beach island of Malay, Aklan.
It had been almost two years since I last visited my home country after relocating to South Korea in 2015. For this trip, we decided to make Boracay our destination, eager to experience its famed white sands.
Traveling to Boracay was an adventure in itself, requiring an entire day. We took an early morning flight from Seoul to Manila, then another from Manila to Caticlan. After landing, we hopped on a boat to finally reach Boracay Island.

By the time we arrived, night had fallen. We headed straight to our accommodation, had dinner at the same place, and took a short stroll along the moonlit beach.
Exhausted from the long journey, we rested, excited to start fresh the next morning and soak in all the island had to offer.
